Oswego County Wetlands

NYFA's first field trip of 2001 was to the wetlands and dune systems along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario in Oswego County. Many thanks to Dr. Andy Nelson and the Rice Creek Field Station at SUNY-Oswego for hosting this event. Additional thanks to both Andy Nelson (SUNY-Oswego) and Sandy Bonanno (The Nature Conservancy) for leading the NYFA group to some fantastic areas of this county. The weather was perfect as we had blue skies and pleasantly warm temperatures with no biting bugs all day. During this trip, we visited three sites. Below is a list of species we stopped to observe during this trip. Many other species were observed and this list only includes those we took the time to enjoy more closely.
